Predator Defense promotes coexistence with predators through nonlethal measures, such as electric fencing, guard dogs, and good husbandry practices. They also advocate in courtrooms and in Congress. ProBlue funds from the sale of Wolf SpiritHoods support Predator Defense’s field operations and generate media attention to educate decision-makers and the public, thus giving a voice to animals that have none.

Pandas International has begun a massive Bamboo planting project at the Wolong nature reserve, in preparation for the re-introduction of Panda cubs into the wild. There must be plenty of bamboo already on the reserve if the pandas are to make a successful re-introduction into the wild. One special Panda that will be re-introduced once the bamboo is planted is Tao Tao (picture below). Money that SpiritHoods raises from the sale of Panda hoods will go directly to planting bamboo at the Wolong nature reserve, so that Pandas like Tao Tao can prosper in their natural habitat.
The Snow Leopard Conservancy works to educate and promote grassroots conservation action in local communities in Central Asia’s high mountains, and SpiritHoods supports their efforts in the mountain ranges of Southern Siberia specifically. These areas were once part of the Soviet Union. After it collapsed, the people turned to hunting as a means of survival, and the snow leopard population was nearly depleted. The SLC works with schools in the area, and focuses on changing attitudes about saving wildlife.
SpiritHoods is supporting rescue efforts in Laos specifically, where there are perhaps only 10-20 Tigers left in the country. This animal is in serious danger, largely due to illegal poaching.The team in Laos focuses on law enforcement patrol, monitoring of tiger and prey populations, and improving the human-tiger conflict. This includes everything from doing presentations at local schools, to training local veterinarians to capture and care for Tigers that have been injured in snares.
